Caught in time
This waterwheel/mill is almost too perfect to believe when you first see it. The wheel turns slowly when water is directed to it and a surrounding meadow is open to the sun yet shaded by towering trees on the hillside. It’s on the Cuttalossa Creek in Solebury Township, Bucks County, a few miles upriver from New Hope. It’s known as Bromley Lowe’s Hobby Mill, or Bromley’s Mill. Just a few hundred yards from the Delaware River and the Cuttalossa Inn, its grasses are grazed by the Olde English Miniature Babydoll Southdown Sheep of Bromley and Suzanne Lowe.
