Besides the large Lake Nockamixon, a much smaller lake is tucked into upper Bucks County. Lake Towhee, hidden in a park, is famous locally for its water lilies, and its water lilies and its water lilies. Some people go there to fish, but with so many water lilies it’s often hard to find a place to drop a line. The lake is a favorite hangout for all manner of ducks, geese, and these two swans. It’s true that swans often mate for life, but they do file for divorce sometimes, especially after a nesting failure. No failure for this pair, who’ve called Lake Towhee home for several years.
