This is the second bridge in South Whitehall Township’s Covered Bridge Park, and another of the five crossing the Jordan Creek. Built in 1841 the 140-foot Burr truss span became known as Sieger’s Bridge after a stone grist mill was built nearby by Ephraim Sieger in 1862. The mill changed hands several times and became known as Wehr’s after William Wehr bought it. Owned by Lehigh County the bridge is still in use, is 17 feet wide, has a 9-foot height limit and 10-ton weight limit. The concrete dam a short distance upstream that supplied power for the mill was built in 1904, replacing the original wooden dam. The mill was torn down in 1951.
