A small lake is tucked into upper Bucks County - Lake Towhee, hidden in a park and famous locally for its water lilies, and its water lilies and its water lilies. Some people go there to fish, but with so many water lilies it's often hard to find a place to drop a line. The lake is a favorite hangout for all manner of ducks, geese, and a pair of swans. This is the male of the pair, extending his neck, seemingly reaching for the sun. Or is he courting his mate, who is just outside of the frame? It's true that swans often mate for life, but they do file for divorce sometimes, especially after a nesting failure. No failure for this pair, who've called Lake Towhee home for several years. Gee, maybe he had something stuck in his throat.
